People treat politician as gods and blindly worship them

I have been watching since last couple of days the famous Netflix series ‘House of Cards’

House of Cards is set in Washington, D.C. and is the story of Congressman Frank Underwood (Kevin Spacey), a Democrat and his equally ambitious wife Claire Underwood . The series deals with themes of ruthless pragmatism, manipulation, betrayal, and power that is a trademark of politicians[1].

The fact is that politics is the sh*tiest profession in the world. Former American President Ronald Reagan frankly admitted, “It has been said that politics is the second oldest profession. I have learned that it bears a striking resemblance to the first (prostitution).

As a matter of fact, politics is worse than the first since politicians sell their soul. Moreover, they not only sell their soul, but also kill the souls of ordinary human beings by dividing them into numerous segments and spreading hatred among them.

The more divided society is, the better it is for politics.

People are impressed by the exteriors of the politicians, which is just a beautiful image created to fool and deceive the masses.

Majority of people are gullible and they lack the intelligence and knowledge to know what politics is all about and what dirty games politicians play to gain power, wealth and fame.

Many of such secrets are exposed in my 2015 book ‘The Secret Red book of Leadership[2]’.

Unfortunately, politics is a necessary evil in a democracy and we can’t wish politicians away.

However, what we can at least do is to elect the least evil people in power and stop worshiping devils like God.

As long as foolish people treat their leaders as God, they will only remain blind devotees to be fooled by their Gods, till they lose everything they have.

Desmond Tutu, a South African Anglican cleric and human rights activist once said about such people , “When the missionaries came to Africa they had the Bible and we had the land. They said 'Let us pray.' We closed our eyes. When we opened them we had the Bible and they had the land”.

We can't avoid them, but at least we can be careful of them.
